UK GDP Association: What is the purpose?

The UK GDP Association has been set up as a C.I.C. (Community Interest Company and non-profit) to deliver commercially viable GDP consultancy services for simple models with smaller budgets.

Companies and individuals can register as members to receive multiple benefits that will bring value by way of knowledge, access to discounted training, consultancy, audit & inspection assistance, and resources such as document templates (risk assessments, CAPA, deviation etc) plus much more!

Our members will receive the benefit of a likeminded support network via a dedicated GDP community hub, where discussions can be held, advice sought, and new relationships built.
Being in quality or operations can be quite isolating as we seem to get "boxed into the quality department" with our copious levels of responsibility and quite often, not enough resource where management do not recognise that quality should be company-wide! We advocate that management should receive at least basic GDP Awareness Training, even if they are not "on the floor".
Management may not ever come into contact with the medicinal products, nevertheless decisions have to be made by management, and these must be made in the light of GDP Compliance.

 

Why would you need a GDP Association?

Having other people to connect with can be a huge help, even if we just need to obtain a spot of situational advice.
Members will also have access to webinars arranged by the committee and other industry experts on a frequent basis, supporting the requirements for continual professional development.

For example, there may be new startup Transport companies looking for haulage contracts. Likewise, new startup wholesaling companies (aside gathering input and expert advice) would want to know who they can rely upon to move their goods in a safe and compliant manner. Yet others may need additional expert advice and know-how on import and export requirements, now that we are technically a third country outside the EU. And what about Pest Control? Cold Storage? Data Management Systems?
As the C.I.C grows, every aspect of the legal supply chain would be covered for you.

Our mission is to ensure that patient safety, GDP compliance, and excellent quality is paramount in all organisations, regardless of budget. After all, the cost of compliance is the same for everyone! It can be demonstrably expensive for a smaller fledgling company, and we are aiming to deliver this in the following ways:

The next annual UK GDP Association conference is taking place on the 17 & 18 June 2025, and we’d love to see you there!
